Privacy Policy — Palette Recolor

Last updated: 8 August 2026

Palette Recolor is an extension panel for Adobe Illustrator, developed and sold by Shohei Yamaguchi as an individual.

This policy describes exactly what the software does with your information. It is short because the software does very little.

The short version

Your artwork never leaves your computer. The only thing ever sent over the network is your license key, and only when you press Activate.

What stays on your computer

Palette Recolor reads the colors in the artwork you have selected in order to show them in the panel. This happens entirely inside Illustrator on your machine. Artwork, file names, color values, and document contents are never transmitted anywhere, and are not written to any log.

The panel stores one small text file on your computer:

That file contains only:

Nothing else is stored. You can delete this file at any time. Deleting it removes your license activation, and you will need to enter your key again.

What is sent over the network

There is exactly one case. When you enter a license key and press Activate, the key is sent to Gumroad, the payment provider, so it can confirm the key is genuine. The request contains the license key and the product identifier, and nothing else. No artwork, no document information, no identifiers about you or your machine.

If you never enter a license key, the software makes no network requests at all.

Gumroad receives and processes this request under its own privacy policy: https://gumroad.com/privacy

What is not collected

To be explicit, Palette Recolor does not include analytics, telemetry, crash reporting, usage tracking, advertising, or any third-party SDK. It does not collect your name, email address, IP address, machine identifier, or any information about the documents you open. There is no account to create and no profile to build.

Information held by the payment provider

When you buy a license, the purchase itself is handled by Gumroad. Gumroad collects the information needed to take payment and issue a receipt, such as your email address and billing details. That information is held by Gumroad, not by the developer, and is governed by Gumroad's privacy policy linked above. The developer can see the order records Gumroad makes available to sellers, which include your email address and what you purchased.

Your rights

Because the software itself holds no personal data on any server, there is no stored profile to access, correct, or erase. For anything relating to your purchase, including deletion of your customer record, contact the developer at the address below or Gumroad directly.

If you are in the EU, UK, or another region with data protection legislation, those rights apply to the purchase records described above.

Children

This software is a professional design tool and is not directed at children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at the same address as this document, with a new date at the top. Material changes to what is sent over the network will also be noted in the release notes.
